Kitchen Cabinet Refinishing — Greenwood Ave, Austin, TX 78723

A full kitchen cabinet color change from a painted sage-green finish to a rich mahogany-tone finish, plus built-in millwork painted to match.

Project Summary

This Austin, TX 78723 project was a full kitchen cabinet refinish on Greenwood Ave, taking the existing sage-green painted cabinetry to a completely different look: a rich, deep mahogany-tone finish across every upper and lower cabinet, the island, and the range hood surround. The kitchen's natural stone countertops, backsplash, and hardware stayed in place, so the dramatic color change was the focus of the transformation.

Hill Country Painting's crew also refinished the built-in shelving and cabinetry in an adjoining butler's pantry-style nook, taking it from bare, unfinished wood to a clean painted white finish that ties the space into the rest of the home's trim.

Scope of Work

Materials & Process

The kitchen's cabinet doors, drawers, face frames, island, and range hood surround were prepped and refinished in place to change the cabinetry from its original painted sage-green color to a deep mahogany-tone finish. In the adjoining butler's pantry-style nook, built-in floating shelving and a lower cabinet run were primed and painted white to complement the room's tile and stone work.

Countertops, backsplash tile, and hardware throughout the project were masked and protected during prep and painting.
