What preparation is done before painting?
Interior preparation includes covering and protecting all floors and furniture with drop cloths and plastic sheets, caulking and filling cracks and nail holes as needed, and sanding and cleaning glossy surfaces and trim to ensure proper paint adhesion. Exterior preparation includes hand-scraping loose paint and pressure washing prior to painting.
